Theology In The Raw

Hello, this blog is the beginning of what I hope to be a long and fruitful journey of self-exploration, self-expression and a place where I can transcribe my thoughts into “paper” which, for my brain, is how I best process information. Although this blog will be primarily surrounding theology, it is a place where I can type out the innermost thoughts that I feel burdened by. Even if no one reads this, it will nonetheless be beneficial for me by providing an outlet to talk about theology in raw thought. Through this outlet, my hope is to be able to refine my thoughts and beliefs by wrestling through the words to land on solid intellectual ground.

A little bit of background, my name is Adam and at the time of writing this post I am 30. I grew up very involved in the church and at various times in my life have wrestled with what it means to be a Christian. In my early 20’s, I was at one time going to school to pursue ministry and despite life circumstances getting in the way, it’s still a very real part of who I am. Through my writing, in no way is my intention to have a spirit of boastfulness or grandeur but rather to express life that I’ve lived. In this blog I will likely discuss at various times things that have happened in my life that you might not agree or believe in and that’s fine. Just know that the stories I talk about come deep within me from personal experiences that I’ve had in my life. Despite growing up in the church, I am by no means an expert in theology — there are things that I will likely write about that a scholar might instantly point out as heresy, so if you leave a comment to help guide me, all I ask is that it is done with that very purpose — to guide — do it in love and good intentions. This is me discussing my spiritual journey and thoughts, hopefully growing into a more refined individual that can then help others along their journey.
